TIP: Condos in Acapulco can be very affordable, even those located on the beach with a beautiful view of the
Acapulco Bay, enabling you to live or retire in a tropical paradise on a very modest budget.
The condo pictured at right is a new development with about 45 of 70 units sold. It is in the very center of the bay
in between La Diana and the Continental Emporio Hotel, across from the new Galerias Diana mall. They have two pools (one on the roof),
a nice gym, common areas, and the units themselves are spacious and luxurious (all marble floors).
Prices start at around US$260K for a 2-BR and are $300-600K for a 3-BR, depending on the view and floorplan.

Purchasing Real Estate in Acapulco and Mexico

Non-Mexican citizens can buy and own real estate in Mexico, except in the coastal and border areas.
Acapulco is obviously located in a coastal area, but you can still purchase property through a 50-year "Trust". When the
trust expires, the Mexican government will issue you a new permit for another 50 years. Of course, you will want to enlist
the services of a local attorney who has experience with the Mexican laws.
