Huatulco in April
Mar 02nd, 2010, 11:55pm

My friends recruited me for a trip to Huatulco from April 16 till the 25th.  It should be a fun time.  Their parents built a few houses on the cliffs overlooking the ocean.  So we have a house to ourselves.  I can not wait!!  More fun in Mexico!

Joe, I've only heard good things about Huatulco, but it's very quiet.  I heard the water though it's the Pacific is very clean and nice...enjoy.

Hi,

I´m just back from my trip to Acapulco and Huatulco. It was great to see Acapulco again after 31! years. Aca ist loud and busy as ever but still amazing.
But Huatulco is really wonderful. La Crucecita is a pretty nice city, very clean, calm, with nice buildings, a bit busy in the early evening hours but with a lot of very good restaurants, bars and shops. We stayed in Hotel Flamboyant, simple but clean, in the center of La Crucecita. Prices are very cheap everywhere. Taxis to the beaches are about 20 Pesos. The beaches are pretty nice. We prefered Playa Santa Cruz with a few cheap restaurants and bars.
If you like the heat then you are right in Huatulco. It´s much hotter than Acapulco. We had temperatures about 37C by day and 27C in the night.
Huatulco is really a sleeper. I like this place very much.

For more informations or some pics feel free and ask me.

we stayed in Hotel Sands in Acapulco, simple but clean, calm and cheap.
To Huatulco we took a flight with Aero Mexico from Mexico City. The price from Mexico City to Huatulco and back to DF was about 165 Dollar. Flight was about 50 Min. All was very easy.

I had a great time in Huatulco as usual.  Stayed in a home that over looked the ocean.  Jet skied with dolphins and watched Humpback whales swim past the house.  Broke a bone in my foot at the house but it did not stop me from enjoying the rest of the vacation.  We spent a day at one of the resorts.  $45 for the day all you can eat and drink.  Suckers, did they lose money.  lol.

If you go there stay away from the restaurants near where the ships dock.  The food and drink sucks.  This is a quiet place with few good restaurants.  I will eventually be a pool boy at the house we stay at, when I retire that is.  Grin

Great time and will be back again.

There are some open air bars around the square.  There are also a few across from the resorts.  Then there is one dance club.  We went there Saturday night around 11pm but it still was not happening.  They said people don't show up till 1am.  Bars are not centrally located like Acapulco.  You would need to take a cab from the resort to the square.  I have pictures and I have to figure out how to post them for you guys.
